Based on both a comic book story (manga) and a videogame, the action-packed Anime series GUNGRAVE blends the science-fiction and organized-crime genres into a supernatural tale of friendship, betrayal, and vengeance. Brandon Heat and Harry McDowell were best friends and partners in crime until Harry betrayed and killed Brandon in his quest to become leader of the crime syndicate known as Milleneon. When a doctor finds a way to bring the murdered youth back to life, Brandon--now known as Beyond the Grave--returns from the dead to pursue the destruction of Milleneon and bring vengeance upon the man who betrayed him. The third volume continues to introduce the story through flashbacks of Brandon's and Harry's early days. In these episodes, Harry and Brandon battle an army of zombies. While Harry stays on the front lines fending off the evil dead, Brandon breaks into Milleneon headquarters in search of a way to stop them.
